According to Islam’s most trusted sources, Muhammad gave special privileges to his wife Aisha. But since the Qur’an (4:3) commands Muslim men to treat their wives fairly, Muhammad’s other wives complained about Aisha’s special status. Oddly enough, Muhammad defended his special treatment of Aisha by claiming that he received revelations while wearing her garments, but not while wearing the garments of his other wives!
