Muhammad and His Eleven Wives

http://www.answeringmuslims.com
According to the Qur’an (4:3), Muslims are allowed to marry up to four women. But according to Sahih al-Bukhari, Muhammad had eleven wives at one time. Why did Muhammad get to violate the four-wife limit? Allah gave him a special revelation (Qur’an 33:50), which gave Muhammad special moral privileges (the right to have as many wives as he wanted). Is is a coincidence that the man receiving the “revelations” gets revelations that give him special moral privileges?
