Is Easter a Pagan Holiday?
Many people are convinced that Easter is a pagan holiday, named after the pagan goddess “Eostre.” Unfortunately for them, the only reference to such a goddess comes from a monk named “Bede.” Bede claimed, in the eight century AD, that the word “Easter” was derived from an ancient goddess. Yet sources prior to Bede never mention this goddess. In this video, Reverend Sule Prince and Dr. Tony Costa discuss the true origin of the word “Easter.”
